Day 1: Cap Formentor & Alcudia
After you have picked up your hire car from the car rental office in Playa de Palma, head for Cap Formentor. The northernmost point of the island is reached via the Ma-13 in about 1.5 hours. The area around the cape is beautiful and impresses young and old alike. The historic quarter of Alcudia is recommended for a lunch break. It takes about 30 minutes to get there by car. In the afternoon stroll through the narrow streets and admire the old buildings. After a day of sightseeing you can wind down at a street cafe of your choice in Port Alcudia and drive back via Arenal to Playa de Palma.
Day 2: Artà & Cala Ratjada
In the morning, head off in your hire car from Playa de Palma to the beautiful town of Artà about a 60-minutes’ drive away. On top of the hill in the middle of the town there is a splendid Moorish fortress surrounding the pilgrimage church. After a good stroll around the historic quarter, we recommend going to the seaside resort of Cala Ratjada. The bustling town offers visitors all the amenities. Whether strolling leisurely along the promenade or browsing through the shops, there is nothing missing here. Your return journey to Playa de Palma takes about 1 hour.
Day 3: Port de Sóller & Tramuntana
Discover Port de Sóller and the Serra de Tramuntana. From Platja de Palma you can reach the harbour town via the Ma-11 in about 45 minutes. This beautiful coastal town is home to the Oratori de Santa Caterina d'Alexandria, an old chapel dating from 1550 and the splendid Platja des Través beach. A trip to Serra de Tramuntana by car is always well worth it. Just follow the Ma-2124 around the mountains and feast your eyes on the unique landscapes. Whether on foot on a trail or by car on a country road the scenery of Serra de Tramuntana is impressive.
