Cadiz boasts more than 3200 hours of sun a year – best spent on one of the enchanting beaches that surround the city. Visitors can choose between the 450-metre-long Playa de la Caleta, which connects directly to the old town of Cadiz, the 4-km-long Cortadura beach, which is up to 60 metres wide, Playa de la Victoria and Santa Maria del Mar, popular with surfers. Playa de la Caleta, which is a favourite haunt of locals and holidaymakers, is usually very busy during the day.
In the evening this beach exudes a particularly beautiful atmosphere, especially at sunset – an unforgettable experience. Playa de la Victoria with its golden sand is the most beautiful beach in Cadiz and protected from the wind. If you are looking for some variety, you can also explore the area, ideally in a breezy cabriolet. In a hire car it is a short hop to Barbate and Los Caños de Meca, where beautiful beaches tempt travellers to take a dip or simply chill.
