Discover Spain’s popular Mediterranean coast in a hire car. Alicante airport is a good starting point. Start your trip from Alicante Airport, in the southeast of the country. Alicante Airport (ALC) is close to the sea and offers numerous opportunities for car excursions.
Alicante Airport is a good place to pick up a hire car from the TUI Cars car rental partner firm and then explore the east of Spain flexibly at your pace. The port city of Alicante is 15 kilometres from the airport and is a good stopover on an exciting trip.
Travel independently and comfortably along the Spanish Mediterranean coast in your hire car. Alicante Airport can serve as a starting point for a trip to Tarragona. From Alicante Airport you drive to Valencia, then continue to Tarragona. Tarragona is also on the coast and can be reached via the toll AP-7 motorway that follows the coast. From Alicante it’s a four-hour-drive to Tarragona, so you may want to stop for a break in Valencia.
It is advisable to visit both cities by car. Tarragona, too, is a good venue for appreciating Spanish culture and history. For instance, you can visit the fascinating remains of a Roman wall and Roman circus.
At Alicante Airport you are spoilt for choice for car excursions. We recommend a relaxing drive along the Mediterranean coast. Follow the AP-7 motorway for about two hours north to Valencia as your next destination.
Valencia resonates with pure Spanish culture. Valencia Cathedral houses old treasures – the highlight is the Holy Chalice, said to be the the Holy Grail, the authentic Cup used in the Last Supper. There are also museums, parks and Spanish cuisine waiting for you. Visit and discover with the flexibility of a hire car. Alicante Airport is not too far from the beautiful city of Valencia.
